Born and raised on the shores of Lake Erie, singer/songwriter/guitarist Marcus Dirk has grown up with a variety of music, musicians, and surroundings to shape his songwriting along the way. His original music is influenced by the sun, the moon, the mountains & seas, Irish, Scottish, English, Dutch, & American folk music, maritime music, jam-rock, reggae, & jazz.

Gordon Shaffer was the Godfather of Irish music in Akron, Ohio. He passed his talents and love for the music to his children. After a few years playing the accordian, Mary Ann decided the flute was much easier to carry! Mary Ann is a Master whistle player, has played with many popular groups in the Cleveland-Akron area, and keeps the tradition alive by continuing Gordie’s weekly Irish music seisiun at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Morewood Ave in Fairlawn. She welcomes you to join her every Wednesday evening.

Maureen’s parents immigrated from County Mayo, Ireland and met in Cleveland’s Irish American Club.
“For as long as I can remember, Ireland was Home. Step dancing wasn’t a possibility, but my parents handed me a violin and sent me to Tom McCaffrey for Irish fiddle lessons. It took me a couple decades before I pulled that fiddle out along with Tom’s books, and realized this music is a part of the fabric of my life, and I can’t be without it.”

Patrick Faith has played music in a variety of bands and genres, from jazz and blues to punk rock but his lifelong love of Celtic music has remained a constant. Before Ballinloch Patrick was formally trained on the saxophone and great highland bagpipe. Pat’s influences come from a rich family history from the British Isles to the early American Colonies and include stories from the Irish Civil War to the American Civil War.
